Project Pixy: Looking for applicants!

Project Pixy, the new and upcoming Minecraft server will be all about projects as the name implies. Here we will only work on building/creating games, adventure maps or special builds in creative mode. We could be working on different projects with their own set of mods and plugins or even vanilla. This means there will be different client/server setups used depending on the project we're working on. This way we keep mods/plugins as limited as possible to allow for easy install once a project is finished and uploaded for the public.

The server will be white-listed only with very limited access!

For those interested to join, make sure to fill out your application on the forum.

Myst and sequels ...

I am planning to stream a full play through of Myst and all the sequels (Riven, Exile, Revelation, End of Ages and URU: Ages beyond Myst) on Twitch TV some time soon. I might play some Myst Online URU Live after that as well as the RealMyst releases. It's the Myst 20th anniversary anyway, right? So check my Twitch channel and follow if you are interested to see me struggle through all of them soon.

Rust

Rust is an open world MMO zombie survival game designed by Facepunch Studios. It takes inspiration from games like DayZ, Minecraft, and STALKER. To survive in Rust you may choose to work together with friends and strangers, scavenging for supplies and building giant bases, or go at it alone, killing other players for loot. Rust aims at being a game that gives players the freedom to play the way that they want, and that doesn't involve a hero and bandit system. With Rust, you will have to use your instinct, not a humanity number, to figure out if you can trust people.

I am playing this game now and so far I truly enjoy it. For a game that's still in alpha development, it's absolutely great fun to play already and well worth the $20.

To buy, go here: Rust and click the 'Auction' button. For now they only sell 500 Steam keys a day.

Kickstarter MADE IT!

WOOT!!!

Congrats Cyan!

Woohooo, so excited now. The funding for the Kickstarter just made the goal of $1.1m! Congrats everyone at Cyan and thanks to all those who helped funding and supporting Obduction ... Love you all!

Obduction !!!

Oooops, I just spend some money...

Truly hope this becomes as wonderful an experience as I had when I first played Myst.
Good luck on getting the kickstart!

Dear friend of Cyan (hopefully),

We really hate to bother you, but we’re just making sure that you’ve heard of our exciting Kickstarter campaign for Obduction.

In case you haven’t heard, we’re building something brand new, and only have a few days left to get it funded. Obduction is a new game that harkens back to the experience that Myst and Riven provided. It’s all about adventure and exploration, in a whole new world that is built with the latest 3D graphics technology. If you’d like to find out more, please check out our Kickstarter page here…

Here’s what you can do to help…
  1. If Obduction seems interesting to you, please help us get funded by pledging what you can.
  2. Please forward this email to others who might be interested.
We only have a few days left, and we need everyone’s help at the end to make Obduction happen!
Thanks so much!

Capture card or TV tuner?

I am looking into a way of capturing my PSX or PS2 to be able to stream from my computer. For this I would need either a good TV tuner or a capture card to get the analogue signal (composite AV/S-video). I did order a converter to get to VGA to be able to play on a monitor. My PS2 can play most my PSX games as well, so I would be able to use component. Could possibly also achieve component signal from my PSX with the converter I ordered by using VGA to component. Just wondering what would be the best way to go about this. What would be minimum requirements to get reasonably good results? Of course I also wonder about costs. Found some solutions ranging from $80-$800. Just need a way for my computer to capture the signal, preferably in h.264 format. Any suggestions?

Castle Wars

Lately I have been taking a break from streaming partly to be able to work on the game mechanics for one of our games on Fun Paradise III. It took me quite some time to get it all to work and mostly to code the computers that control everything. Had many a brain ache to solve unsuspected issues and find ways around those. However, Castle Wars is now reaching completion and we will soon be able to play for real!
Castle Wars, is a game Yoomanyoo and I have been developing. It's a game where 2 teams build their fortress with traps and then fight each other in three rounds. Players get to choose their building/fighting skills. This has been built on my modded server Fun Paradise III and therefor allows for some neat features and compact game mechanics.
